Drew McIntyre has become a remarkable force in WWE. His powerhouse social media presence at the beginning of 2024 has helped him regain momentum and establish himself as a main event attraction on Monday Night RAW.

Moreover, McIntyre is also a three-time WWE World Champion in his own right. But two of those reigns came to an end, courtesy of the Money in the Bank briefcase. The first instance was at WWE Elimination Chamber 2021 when The Miz cashed in successfully on McIntyre after a grueling encounter inside the name-sake chamber.

The second and most recent instance saw him defeat Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40. However, a brief altercation with his heated rival, CM Punk, after the bout saw Damian Priest capitalize on McIntyre with his briefcase and slither the title away from him.

In recent interview with The Indian Express, Drew McIntyre acknowledged the importance of the Money in the Bank briefcase but expressed disdain towards the prestigious accolade for costing him two World title reigns.

” I can’t stand the Money in the Bank briefcase. I understand the point is to cash it in to win the title, but I’ve lost my last two world titles because of that stupid briefcase.”

Drew McIntyre has the opportunity to redeem his WrestleMania 40 loss with his upcoming title showdown against Damian Priest at WWE Clash at the Castle next week. With the event set to take place in his home country of Scotland, there is a huge possibility that McIntyre will walk out of OVO Hydro as the new World Heavyweight Champion.
