The Phenomenal One has been one of the most prolific stars in the wrestling industry for over two decades. AJ Styles has been a massive name right from his debut and his career in WWE has been nothing less than a roller coaster ride. However, after an amazing career, Styles is clearly nearing his retirement from the squared circle.
AJ Styles announced his retirement during the 5/31 episode of WWE Smackdown. However, it turned out to be a trap, similar to what Mark Henry did to John Cena back in 2013. Styles attacked the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes during his segment, leaving millions around the world stunned.
During a recent interview with Bernard Colas, AJ Styles addressed his future in WWE and stated that he wanted to be a team player first. While he had a goal to win the World Championship again, Styles also stated that he wanted to end his career in WWE itself.
“Well, obviously, the goal is to become the Heavyweight Champion of the world. But it’s also important to be a team player. I always want to be part of the team and not just think it’s all about me or that I deserve everything. We don’t deserve anything; we have to earn it. But I strive to be a team player while aiming for the top. I definitely want to finish my career here. When I retire, I would love for it to be right here in WWE.”
It is clear that AJ Styles’ retirement is not far away. Winning the World title once before he puts down his boots would be an amazing moment for him and his fans. Stay connected to Ringside News to get the latest updates on the industry.
