Bryan Danielson had made it clear that the year 2024 would be his last run as a full-time performer inside the ring. However, things have not been going as The American Dragon would have wanted them to be.

On tonight’s June 5 episode of AEW Dynamite, Bryan Danielson was part of a huge 8-man tag team match pitting his Blackpool Combat Club members, Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley, and the returning Wheeler Yuta against Team CMLL (Magnus, Volador Jr., Rugido and EsFinge).

Despite a hard-fought battle, Bryan’s team ultimately fell short of picking up the win. Later on, he reflected on his last year as a full-timer so far and admitted that he had failed in all of his major quests.

However, Danielson was not ready to let things end that way and declared himself for the upcoming Owen Hart Cup tournament, aiming to win the prestigious accolade and a guaranteed AEW World title match for the winner at Forbidden Door, beginning his road to redemption.
