Current and former WWE superstars Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose respectively were once known as the dynamic duo, Fire and Desire. The real-life best friends formed the tag team in 2017 and a moderate run with their partnership lasted until 2020.

The tag team concluded when Sonya Deville betrayed Mandy Rose, aligning with former WWE superstar Dolph Ziggler to create tension between Rose and Otis, who were involved in a romantic storyline that garnered significant attention in the pandemic era.

In a recent interview on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet,” the current RAW star reflected on her time with Rose, expressing admiration and revealed to have enjoyed working with Rose on-screen.

On the other hand, Sonya Deville did admit feeling that Mandy Rose often received more opportunities in WWE, possibly cited due to her amazing stature which added a layer of real-life tension to their storyline.

“A lot of it was real. We’re best friends, we’re like sisters; we love like sisters, we fight like sisters. I felt that Mandy got opportunities in the ring because of her look, which I didn’t have. While I didn’t feel this to my core, it was something I could definitely play off of. I love her so much, and there’s so much friendship and history there. When you trust the person you’re out there with and there’s so much love, it’s easy to emulate any emotion.”

Mandy Rose was released from WWE in 2022 due to the explicit content she posted on her Fantime subscription service, but managed to make her own branding outside WWE that garnered her immense fortune.

Meanwhile, Sonya Deville recently made her return to WWE after a 10-month hiatus due to a torn ACL and is looking to align herself with the upcoming tag team of Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark.

Do you agree with Sonya Deville that Mandy Rose got more opportunities than her due to the way she looked? Sound off in the comments!
