Jeff Hardy has faced a challenging period in AEW, being sidelined by an injury caused by Sammy Guevara. Despite being cleared to return to action, there is speculation that his contract might be extended as AEW could have added additional time to it.

On February 14th, Hardy suffered broken nose when Guevara hit him in the face with his knees during a dive. This injury kept Hardy off AEW television for a while, but he was cleared for in-ring action last month.

Reports indicate that Jeff Hardy’s AEW contract was initially set to expire soon. However, during an episode of Fightful Select’s Backstage podcast, it was revealed that AEW might have added time to Hardy’s contract due to his absences. According to Sean Ross Sapp, this extension could be significant.

“Originally, Matt and Jeff’s deals were to expire around the same time. However, due to some absences, Jeff got time added to his contract. Matt’s was expiring in mid-March, and then they extended it to mid-April for some reason. With Jeff, I feel they could have added a significant amount more, and sometimes they wait until it comes down to the wire to do that. It ain’t over until it’s over in that regard,” Sapp noted.
