Reason for Piper Niven Receiving Women’s Title Shot at 2024 WWE Clash at The Castle

WWE announced that the Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event, which will be taking place on June 15th this year and there are a few matches confirmed for the event and this includes Piper Niven squaring off against Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship. The reason for her being given the title shot has now been revealed.

During the May 31st edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Nia Jax assumed center stage, adorned with her prestigious crown, wasting no time as she called out her SummerSlam opponent to face her in the ring. However, as Bayley approached, she found herself ambushed by Piper Niven and Chelsea Green, who promptly hurled her into the ring.

With Bayley incapacitated, Niven and Chelsea shifted their attention to Nia Jax, boldly declaring that Niven would triumph over Bayley for the title, setting the stage for Jax to confront her instead. It was then confirmed that Piper Niven would challenge Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship at Clash at The Castle.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about WWE’s decision to have Piper Niven in the title match. Meltzer noted that it was simply a way to fill time so that they would inevitably have Bayley square off against Nia Jax.

“The major match is the Nia Jax match and they just did this to fill time until we get to it.”

We will have to wait and see how WWE will continue to book Bayley and Piper Niven’s feud in the coming weeks, as it is clear Bayley will not have it easy heading into Clash at The Castle on June 15th.
