Mercedes Mone is renowned for her bold approach to making bank and taking names, yet she’s equally recognized for her unwavering support of those she believes in. Once again, she demonstrated this trait by standing up for NBA star Jaylen Brown, a move consistent with her character’s values.

On ESPN’s First Take, Stephen A. Smith asserted that his NBA sources had messaged him, suggesting that Jaylen Brown is not well-received due to his ego, which affects his marketability. Brown took to Twitter in response, challenging Smith to reveal his sources.

While speaking to TMZ Sports, Mercedes Mone was asked if she wanted a confrontation with Stephen A. Smith. She called out Smith for accusing Jaylen Brown of having a big ego and made it clear she has a problem with Smith’s comments.

“We are the city of Champions for a reason, and there is a reason why I pick the boss in Boston. Steph, Stephen A. Smith, whatever his name is, he wants to say that Jaylen Brown has a big ego, he has the big ‘who can’t even be a superstar.’ I’ve dealt with haters my whole career, and Jaylen Brown goes out there and shows that he is a champion every single game. So just prepare for another championship from Boston, baby, because we’re gonna go out there, we’re gonna get it. Oh, he’s[Stephen A. Smith] about to get bankrupt, that’s for sure.”
