TNA Wrestling and WWE have a history of collaboration, and this week saw another instance of it as Jordynne Grace made an appearance on NXT. In light of this, Shawn Michaels has confirmed that there will be further announcements regarding NXT crossover matches in the future.
Fans worldwide were taken aback when TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace made a surprise appearance on the May 28 edition of NXT, challenging Roxanne Perez to an NXT Women’s Championship match at NXT Battleground. Since then, speculation has been rife among fans, eagerly anticipating the next WWE/TNA crossover event.
During an interview with KTNV Channel 13 Las Vegas, Shawn Michaels was asked about WWE’s plans for their collaboration with TNA. Michaels hinted at some thrilling announcements yet to be revealed for future crossover matches.
“Well look, obviously a lot of those decisions get made by people above me. But look, I have no doubt that there’s gonna be some very exciting announcements coming down the pipe, let’s put it that way. I will say this, again, it comes back to wanting to entertain the people that do this and you just said it, for fans, we have wanted A, B, and C for so long. I don’t know. I guess with those of us that get to do this behind the scenes, those are things that we’ve wanted to see, why not see if we can bring you guys one of these things you’ve been looking for. Obviously a very exciting time to be a wrestling fan and we’ll see how much of it culminates Battleground on June 9, I’m sure a lot of things are going to be going on that night, so I wouldn’t miss it.”
We have already reported that NXT might see some involvement during the Against All Odds event on June 14th. WWE plans to increase talent exchanges between both companies, so we’ll have to see what kind of crossover matches they have planned in the coming months.
