As legendary announcer Jim Ross focuses on his health, wrestling fans are learning more about his personal life. Despite being a widower since the loss of his wife Jan in 2017, former WCW star Missy Hyatt recently revealed that she dated Good Ol’ JR for two years following his wife’s passing.
During an episode of Rene Dupree’s Café de René podcast, Missy Hyatt was asked if she would consider spending a night with Jim Ross. Surprisingly, the former WCW star revealed that she and JR had dated for a couple of years after his wife passed away:
“Honestly, me and Jim dated for a couple of years, about two years after his wife passed away, we dated for about two years. So, yeah, I’ve rocked his world. He’s rocked my world.”
Jim Ross was married to Jan Ross, who tragically passed away on March 22, 2017, following a fatal accident. She was riding her Vespa scooter near their home in Norman, Oklahoma when she was struck from behind by a car driven by a 17-year-old. The impact caused her to be thrown from the scooter, resulting in severe head injuries. Jan was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support but sadly succumbed to her injuries two days later.
Jim Ross has publicly spoken about the profound impact of his wife’s death on his life, describing her as his rock and the love of his life. He has often expressed his grief and how much he misses her, sharing that her passing left a significant void in his life. Despite the tragedy, Jim Ross has continued his work in the wrestling industry, honoring Jan’s memory and drawing strength from the years they shared together.
