Jeff Hardy has had a rough patch in AEW, with an injury caused by Sammy Guevara keeping him off AEW television. While he has been cleared for a return, it appears his contract is expiring very soon.

On February 14th, Jeff Hardy suffered a broken nose injury after Sammy Guevara hit him right in the face with his knees off a dive. He would then be on the shelf for a while but got cleared for in-ring action earlier this month.

While speaking on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy provided an update on his brother’s status with AEW. Matt Hardy revealed that Jeff Hardy is currently just sitting at home waiting for a phone call and revealed that his contract will be expiring in mid-June this year and will then become a free agent.

“He’s been cleared. He’s just sitting at home, waiting on the call.

“Unlike me, he’s not someone who really gets out and makes things happen, he just kind of waits on someone to call him.

“He’s sitting at home just waiting on that phone call, jumping on the trampoline up and down with the dumbbells.

“But yeah, he’s got till like mid-June or so I think, and then his deal’s up. So I guess we’ll see if he ends up re-signing or not re-signing. Who knows?”

We had already reported that Jeff Hardy’s AEW contract is expected to expire sometime in the Spring, so there’s no telling whether The Charismatic Enigma will actually end up sticking with AEW in the long run. Only time will tell what will become of Jeff Hardy.
