Jack Perry’s transition to NJPW was met with awe as he stunned fans with his performances. However, his return to AEW was inevitable, and he made his comeback at Dynasty last month. Perry aligned himself with The Elite and competed at Double or Nothing, where he found himself on the receiving end of Darby Allin’s fiery assault. Surprisingly, Eric Bischoff had an unexpected reaction to these developments.

The Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing commenced with a ferocious display of brutality, as The Elite and Team AEW collided throughout the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The confrontations ranged from the crowd to backstage, with no shortage of intense battles.

In a crucial moment of the match, Jack Perry seized AEW President Tony Khan from the gorilla position. However, the tables quickly turned when Darby Allin unleashed a flamethrower, engulfing Perry in flames. Fortunately, the blaze was promptly extinguished, and Perry only remained ablaze for a fleeting moment.

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff, known for his previous criticism of AEW, had a change of heart during a special edition of the 83 Weeks podcast. He admitted to being very impressed with how AEW executed the fire stunt.

“They executed it very well,” Bischoff acknowledged. “I’m not suggesting I thought it was a great idea, but if you’re going to do something like that, you have to do it really well or it can stink the joint up.”

Bischoff cited the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch as an example of when such stunts can go awry. He expressed his admiration for AEW’s ability to pull off the stunt safely without the involvement of fire marshals.

“It was a high-risk stunt, it was hard to execute, it was dangerous, I’m really surprised they were able to pull it off because arenas have really strict laws or rules like that. Usually have to have fire marshals there and the fire marshals have to be the one to put out the fire on the stuntperson, in this case, a wrestler. So I was really shocked that they pulled it off, and they pulled it off very well.”

AEW had protocols in place for Jack Perry’s safety as well. Nevertheless, The Elite is clearly reigning supreme over AEW at the moment, so we will have to wait and see how the storyline will progress.
