Brandi Rhodes recently shared her story about undergoing surgery for Endometriosis, a condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, causing significant pain and complications.

Her powerful social media posts garnered significant attention, contributing to the broader conversation about how women often feel dismissed or not taken seriously by medical professionals. In a recent interview with TODAY.com, the former Chief Brand Officer of AEW expressed her frustration and stressed the importance of women advocating for themselves.

During the interview, Brandi detailed the numerous doctor’s appointments she had to endure while trying to understand the cause of her “internal pain” and other troubling symptoms that had persisted since her pregnancy.

“It felt like something inside, whether it was an ovary or my uterus, just felt really irritated and aggravated.

The biggest shock was post-partum, when this was supposed to be going away, it definitely was not going away… That was the point at which I gave up. I just said, you know what, maybe this is in my head.”

Brandi Rhodes detailed her immediate reaction upon doctors finally identifying Endometriosis as the source of her pain. She expressed a mixture of relief and frustration, relieved to have a definitive diagnosis after years of suffering and numerous consultations, but frustrated that it took so long to reach this point.

“It’s been three years. What took so long?” [To husband, Cody Rhodes]: I’m so mad. I’m so worked up because I knew something was wrong. And the way that I felt so dismissed in so many different ways… This is so wrong.

The former in-ring competitor concluded her interview with an appeal to women everywhere to be their own best advocates, urging them not to hesitate to speak up if they sense something is wrong.

“Feel empowered by your own feelings…It can feel really discouraging, and you can start to second guess yourself and feel like maybe this is (your) fault. But it’s not. You just haven’t met the right professional yet.”

Maryse was also moved by Brandi Rhodes’ story as well. Regardless, Brandi Rhodes is currently recovering after such a crucial surgery, so we will continue to give her our best.
