AJ Styles is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable wrestling legends of all time. Moreover, his popularity has skyrocketed ever since he joined WWE in 2016. However, it seemed that the time for his in-ring career was closing, only for Styles to throw a major curveball.

During tonight’s May 31 edition of SmackDown, AJ Styles informed General Manager Nick Aldis that he wanted to address his future in the promotion. This came after their last conversation when AJ mentioned that he did not have much time left.

The Phenomenal One later on came down to the ring to speak about his future and looked visibly emotional. He reflected on his talk with Nick Aldis from last week while mentioning that he could not go to the back of the line to earn another Undisputed WWE championship at this point.

While reflecting on his long-tenured career, Styles mentioned that his son graduated which made him think that now was the time to be a Phenomenal father. After doing a last “Too Sweet” with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, he requested the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to come to the ring.

The American Nightmare came and stood in the ring with AJ Styles who appreciated their dream match at WWE Backlash France and Cody thanked him for the same. Just as the show was going to close with Styles taking the final blow, he launched a hellacious assault on Rhodes before putting the exclamation point with a Styles Clash to him on the mat.
