Former WWE superstar Lio Rush made his debut at AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view in 2021 but didn’t remain with the company for long. However, that came to an end on the May 29 edition of AEW Dynamite.

Bobby Lashley’s former hypeman made a surprise appearance on the recent AEW Dynamite episode. He was a part of the Casino Gauntlet match in the main event with an AEW World Title shot hanging in the balance. Ultimately, it was won by Will Ospreay.

According to a new update by Fightful Select, Lio Rush’s AEW appearance was planned almost week ago. Moreover, even after his last exit from AEW, Lio Rush did not rule out his return to the company and that seemed to have worked out well citing his recent appearance.

“Lio Rush’s appearance has been planned as far back as a week.”

During his last tenure with AEW, Lio Rush participated in only five matches, a limited engagement largely influenced by his injuries. These physical setbacks even led to a brief retirement from wrestling.

However, with his second coming in AEW, we will have to wait and see if things turn out to be different this time around in Tony Khan’s company.
