Sonya Deville suffered an ACL tear after injuring herself on the July 28th episode of SmackDown and that put her out of action for several months, costing her precious time and now Deville confessed she was utterly devastated about her injury.

The star faced a setback in her WWE career, having to leave the company to recover from an injury, which occurred just after winning her first title. Unfortunately, she had to vacate her tag team title and prioritize her recovery from an ACL injury. On the August 14 edition of RAW, Piper Niven replaced her as champion, while Chelsea Green retained her title.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on the Insight podcast, Sonya Deville talked about her ACL injury last year. She admitted that she was utterly devastated after having to vacated the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title.

“20 days, 21 days [before] who’s counting? 30 seconds. I was so devastated. I mean, I’d been with the company for nine years. And of course, part of being in the WWE is to one day grab that brass ring and get gold around your waist and that’s what I had been striving for, of course. So I finally got my first championship and I was so happy. I was so elated. I was ready to make those titles mean more than ever before. And the injury came, which is probably why I ran back to my hotel and hid in my room and didn’t tell anyone I was injured.”
