Bandido impressed fans over the years, and that is a big reason why AEW had him compete against Chris Jericho on Dynamite back in 2022. He’s been out of action for a long time and is now ready for return.

During his match with Konosuke Takeshita on the June 14, 2023 edition of Rampage, Bandido suffered broken wrist injury and would undergo successful surgery for the same back in July.

It was later revealed that Bandido’s wrist was “still bad,” necessitating a second surgery scheduled for December 2023. His return to the ring was tentatively planned for May 2024.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Bandido is ready for his in-ring comeback but wasn’t sure why he didn’t return on Dynamite this week.

“Bandido should be back right about now. Last I’d heard about him was May and obviously May is just about over so I don’t know what the situation is with him.

“Tonight [May 29 AEW Dynamite] would have been a good night to debut him, in that Casino gauntlet because he would have been a big pop he would have been fantastic.”

We’ll have to see what AEW will have planned for him after his return, as the landscape of the company has changed significantly since Bandido last competed inside the squared circle.
