Nic Nemeth, who was released from WWE in September, bided his time until 2024 to make his move. He is now on a roll in promotions such as TNA and NJPW, but it appears Nemeth has claimed Vince McMahon wanted him in WWE forever.
The wrestling industry has been rocked by serious allegations against Vince McMahon, a highly polarizing figure in sports entertainment. WWE is experiencing a notable shift as Triple H now leads Creative, with McMahon permanently stepping back. Many insiders view this change as a positive development for the company.
During an appearance on Eyes Up Here, Nemeth revealed to ECW legend Francine that Vince McMahon had intended for him to transition to a backstage role once his in-ring career concluded. The former WWE Chairman even drew a comparison between Nemeth and baseball player-turned-manager Pete Rose.
“I get to a point where I go, ‘Hey, now I’m not even coming in, getting an entrance, I’m not even tagging with Bob Roode, I’m not even making something, it’s not even fun when someone pins me.’ I go, ‘Vince, thanks for everything,’ 20-page email, ‘This is the greatest job in the world,’ and then I aired out some dirty laundry about how I was mad just in the last couple of paragraphs, but the rest was very, very positive.”
Nemeth worked in WWE for 19 years before his departure last year. Nic Nemeth remains a highlight of TNA as well NJPW right now as it is clear he won’t be returning to WWE anytime soon and perhaps that is for the best.
