Mercedes Mone came on tonight’s May 29 edition of AEW Dynamite for a grand celebration of her TBS title win over Willow Nightingale at Double or Nothing this past weekend, but instead stood face-to-face with her first challenger in the ring.

The CEO opened the show for her celebrations as the new AEW TBS Champion. However, they were quickly cut short by Skye Blue who was revealed to be the mystery attacker that laid out Mercedes Mone a few weeks ago and blindsided her again with an attack earlier in the night.

This led to AEW President Tony Khan making the match official between Mercedes Mone and Skye Blue for the night, marking the in-ring debut of The CEO on AEW’s flagship programming, Dynamite.

Mercedes Mone displayed an excellent showing against the twisted Skye Blue who was looking for an opportunity to make a name at the expense of the former WWE star. Despite a valiant effort by the challenger, in the end, Mone emerged victorious and made her first successful title defense to begin her reign on a high note.

However, CMLL star and current NJPW Strong champion Stephanie Vaquer made her entrance on the ramp, hoisting her title and hinting at the potential showdown with the Forbidden Door pay-per-view on the horizon.
