Maria Kanellis came to be known as the ‘First Lady of Women’s Wrestling’ for her vocal and confident nature and contributions to the business. However, it appears she has shut down claims she works in ROH.
Last year, Maria Kanellis revealed that she underwent thyroid surgery and thankfully, it all went well. Unfortunately, her health hasn’t been the best for the past year and that has also been attributed to her infrequent appearances on AEW and ROH.
There are many who wonder what she even does in ROH. On Twitter, the former WWE Diva clarified that she isn’t a backstage manager at ROH but mentors the women there whenever she can. She mentioned that she tried to resume her former role as the booker of ROH’s women’s division, but that attempt was unsuccessful.
Kanellis emphasized that she is currently focused on her family, finding a home for her promotion Women’s Wrestling Army, and managing Griff Garrison and Cole Karter in ROH.
“Just saw some news about being a backstage agent at @ringofhonor. I’m not. I mentor the girls on my own time when I can. I tried to get my old job back in ROH booking the women’s division but it didn’t work. So, I’m focused on family, finding a home for @WWrestlingArmy, and managing @griffgarrison1 and @realcolekarter”
Kanellis had made it clear she was not happy about her limited role in ROH. Nevertheless, Kanellis will likely have more to complain about in the future.
