Much like anywhere in the field, professional wrestling, although is a combination of athletic skill and personality to captivate a hardcore audience, in the end, it is like any job in the world.

Former WWE superstar Jimmy Wang Yang, who wrestled his last match in 2023 in Japan, had a similar perception when it came to his time in the global juggernaut. He portrayed a comedic gimmick of a cowboy who had exceptional wrestling skills and was a popular face of the company in the mid and late 2000s.

During a recent interview with Steve Fall for Ringside News, Jimmy Wang Yang revealed his true feelings about his persona in WWE when asked by the host. He gave an honest take by claiming that the company paid him well for portraying that gimmick as compared to any other promotion citing his other persona named Akio.

“The Asian Cowboy gimmick more than Akio gimmick.”
