Damian Priest won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship by cashing in on Drew McIntyre and has been booked strongly as the champion ever since. It was a long time coming for Priest and he blames himself for achieving success so late in his career.

During an appearance on The Rob Brown Show, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest emphasized that aspiring wrestlers must be fully committed to their dreams. He highlighted the importance of “walking the talk” and holding oneself accountable.

“This is one of those gigs where you can’t be half in, half out. You can’t just talk about it and say, ‘Hey, I’m giving it my all,’ and really just say that for the pat on the back. You have to look at yourself in the mirror and hold yourself accountable.”

As a member of The Judgment Day, Priest was candid about his journey, admitting he wasted many years by not pushing himself harder to achieve his goals. He took responsibility for his late rise in the wrestling industry and urged younger talents not to repeat the mistakes he made.

“I went through it where I did that the wrong way for so long; that’s why I always tell people that it took me so long to get to this level, but it was my own fault. It was because I didn’t actually hold myself accountable. I didn’t look myself in the mirror and say, ‘Are you working as hard as you can for your own dream?’ Because ain’t nobody else going to work for your dream.”

During the King and Queen of The Ring Premium Live Event, it was announced that McIntyre would challenge Damian Priest for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at The Castle, so we’ll have to see how he will fare against The Scottish Warrior in the end.
