Alicia Fox was one of the mainstays of the WWE women’s division at one point in time but she finally left the company last year. Fox has been training in other promotions after her departure and she has now addressed joining AEW or TNA.

In case you forgot, Alicia Fox had a long run in WWE for over ten years. The former WWE Superstar was popular for her foxy and crazy persona mixed with the unorthodox style of wrestling. She eventually won the Divas Championship, becoming the first African-American woman to win the title. Of course, that’s in the past now as she is having a great run in the indies.

While speaking to MuscleManMalcolm, Alicia Fox was asked about making her way to AEW or TNA. Fox admitted that while sometimes she does think about joining the companies, she ultimately feels it’s better for her to follow the same path that Matt Cardona did and simply not stay tied to one company and compete in many promotions.

“Some days yes, some days no. Um, like, you know, because like, again, I always think about, like, Zack Ryder. He’s able to just really work territories, and I think that was just, like, fun. That’s what I find at Hatchet: this nostalgic feeling of when Kelly and I went to practice. I was pretty young myself, but you know, the people that I had the privilege of growing with, like even Cody Rhodes, Punk, not to name drop, but honestly, Rosa Mendes, Maria Kanellis—there were women, you know, even just all the women that were also successful in TNA.

You know, Angelina Love, she was at WWE. She was at WWE like the Deep South girls. All these women have, you know, held hands of another woman somewhere. So it just is a very curious experience for me, but I think I’m better able to do that when I can have more boots on the ground in other companies and meet more women too. You know, I think it’s what I want to do because it makes the wrestling more sweet.”

Alicia Fox also made her in-ring return last month after several years. Nonetheless, fans are happy to see Fox having a great time in the independent circuit, so we’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for the former WWE Superstar.
