In the world of professional wrestling, superstars are known by their ring names, but it has been a common practice for stars to change their names at times in their careers. An AEW star has seemingly undergone another name change following a recent modification to a shortened version of his ring name.

He is none other than former WWE star Ariya Daivari, brother of Shawn Daivari. The compelling cruiserweight star has been competing on the ROH brand in recent months, initially using the abbreviated name ‘Ari Daivari.’

However, in recent memory, Daivari formed the new Premier Athletes tag team with Tony Nese, where he reverted to his full ring name, Ariya Daivari. In a recent update, Daivari is now officially known as Ariya once again, with his profile on AEW’s roster page reflecting this change, listing him as Ariya Daivari instead of Ari.

Ariya Daivari last competed on the May 16 ROH tapings, where he and Tony Nese teamed up with Griff Garrison and Cole Karter in a losing effort against Lee Johnson, Action Andretti, and Top Flight. With his name change official, we will have to wait and see what’s next for him and his tag team Tony Nese in ROH.
