AEW Had Protocols in Place for Jack Perry’s Well-being After Double or Nothing Flamethrower Spot

Jack Perry’s move to NJPW was surprising to fans, and his performance there was well-received. However, his return to AEW was inevitable, and he made dramatic comeback at Dynasty last month. Perry aligned himself with The Elite and competed at Double or Nothing, where he was involved in a heated altercation with Darby Allin that resulted in him being burned. In response to this incident, AEW went to great lengths to ensure that everything went smoothly.

The Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing kicked off with intense brutality, as The Elite and Team AEW clashed throughout the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, engaging in battles from the crowd to backstage.

In a pivotal moment of the match, Jack Perry seized AEW President Tony Khan from the gorilla position. Subsequently, Darby Allin unleashed a flamethrower, engulfing Perry in flames. However, the blaze was swiftly extinguished, and Perry was only ablaze for a brief moment.

Regarding the fire stunt, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that AEW went through several hopes to ensure that Jack Perry was perfectly safe following the flamethrower spot.

“Perry was 100% OK after the Anarchy in the Arena match despite being set on fire. Perry had done the same stunt before and we are told that the company jumped through every hoop to make sure it was done correctly and safely. The spot where he ‘knocked himself out’ crashing the bus was to take Perry off camera so he could gel himself up for the fire stunt.”

In the end, The Elite reigned supreme over Team AEW as Jack Perry pinned Bryan Danielson. Regardless, we will have to wait and see what’s next in store for The Elite now that they have asserted their dominance in the company.
