Adam Copeland has been a fixture on AEW television since his debut at WrestleDream, maintaining a babyface role and he had a banger of a match at Double or Nothing. However, he took a lot of bumps and looked to be badly hurt during the bout and Tony Khan has now confirmed Copeland’s health status.
With anticipation running high, Copeland put his TNT title on the line against Malakai Black in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage match at AEW Double or Nothing. The match kicked off with explosive action, quickly escalating into one of the most brutal encounters of their careers. The unforgiving barbed wire structure added an element of danger as both men unleashed their fury, resulting in bloodshed.
As the match reached its climax, members of the House of Black intervened to aid Black, tipping the scales in his favor. However, a surprising turn of events occurred when Gangrel emerged from beneath the ring, clearing the ring and aligning himself with his former ally, Copeland.
With the momentum shifted, Gangrel applied a devastating submission hold using the barbed wire, ultimately forcing Black to pass out and securing victory for Copeland in a dramatic conclusion.
While speaking during the post-AEW Double or Nothing media scrum, Tony Khan was asked about Adam Copeland’s health status. Khan confirmed that Copeland was undergoing medical evaluation after the match and hoped he would be physically fine.
”We are checking him out, that was an amazing barbed wire cage match. I am knocking on all the wood and crossing my fingers he is okay. I was hoping he would be sitting with Tanahashi-san and me right now, he is really beat up. I hope he’s okay and it was a hard-hitting barbed wire cage match.”
We will have to wait and see whether Adam Copeland will be physically fine after the brutal match at AEW Double or Nothing, as Copeland has truly shown the world he is one of AEW’s best signings.
