Swerve Strickland Reveals How Floyd Mayweather Appearance at 2024 AEW Double or Nothing Came Together

Strickland added that they had been trying to get Mayweather and his family to Vegas for the past two years and finally managed to get him for this year’s show.

”Floyd has been a friend of my man Flash Garments. He gets a free pass every time he comes to AEW. If we have opportunities and connections, we’re gonna bring them here every time. We want to blow this place up and be the catalyst of it. That’s how Floyd came through. We actually been talking to Floyd for like two years now, his whole family having them come through every time we come to Vegas. Finally he was like ‘Alright this is the day we’re pulling up.”

Regardless, we will have to wait and see what the future holds for Swerve Strickland now that he has successfully defended his AEW World Championship in such a significant match. No matter what challenges lie ahead, he will also have the support of Floyd Mayweather.
