Kris Statlander is undoubtedly one of the veterans of the AEW women’s division but she ended up betraying Willow Nightingale at AEW Double or Nothing and now she has broken her silence on the matter.
In a highly anticipated showdown, Willow Nightingale defended her AEW TBS Championship against her long-time rival, Mercedes Mone, in Mone’s debut match for Tony Khan’s company. Willow had the support of her friends, Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway, who were in her corner.
The match lived up to expectations, gripping the audience and keeping them on the edge of their seats. However, due to some miscommunication and a perfectly executed Mone Maker, Mercedes Mone secured the victory and claimed the TBS Championship.
As Mercedes celebrated her triumph, tensions escalated between Willow, Kris, and Stokely. Stokely’s criticism of Willow’s loss led to a physical altercation, with Kris pushing him to the mat.
The night took a turn for the worse when Kris, seemingly leaving with Willow, suddenly turned on her and launched a vicious assault. Stokely joined in the betrayal, and together they stood over the fallen Willow Nightingale, who had not only lost her championship but also her friends in a shocking turn of events.
AEW took to their official Twitter account and uploaded a video of Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway after the shocking betrayal. Stokely stated that Nightingale had it coming and Statlander told everyone to tune into AEW Dynamite.
”Why don’t you watch Dynamite this Wednesday? Then we’ll talk.”
The feud between Willow Nightingale and Kris Statlander in AEW promises to be intensely personal, given their close bond in the past. Therefore, we’ll have to see how it will develop in the coming weeks.
