Eric Bischoff Says Mercedes Mone’s Promo Skills Hurt Her More Than Help Her

Mercedes Mone’s arrival in AEW has definitely reshaped the landscape of the promotion. As a significant figure in the history of the promotion, Mone swiftly rose to prominence within the company. However, it seems Eric Bischoff had some very harsh words for Mone.

Mercedes Moné made her AEW debut in March and has quickly established herself as a formidable force in the women’s division. She is a pure babyface, but many people don’t really buy her gimmick.

While speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff heavily criticized Mercedes Mone for her poor promo skills and stated that she is simply incapable of cutting promos.

“They should have never let her talk. She can’t cut a promo. That was a huge mistake. Until she gets the skill set to do it, or the confidence, she just shouldn’t do it. It hurts her more than it helps her.”

Eric Bischoff then questioned why no one in AEW pulled Tony Khan to the side and directly told him that Mercedes Mone couldn’t cut promos and that she shouldn’t whatsoever.

Concerning Mercedes Mone’s match against Willow Nightingale at AEW Double or Nothing, Eric Bischoff stated that the match should have been six minutes long, which would have benefitted both women in the end.

“If that match would have gone only six minutes, it would have been better for everybody.”

Mercdes Mone ended up defeating Willow Nightingale to capture the TBS Championship, but it drew mixed reactions from fans all over the world. Regardless, we’ll have to see if Mone will be able to improve her promo skills in the end.
