Maxwell Jacob Friedman, known as MJF, made a stunning return at AEW Double or Nothing, shaking up the entire AEW landscape with a bold statement that possibly did not sit well with another member of the locker room.

MJF’s return was preceded by the appearance of Adam Cole discussing his recovery and reintroducing his Devil Mask. At the end of his promo, the lights went out, and a video played, revealing a room filled with artifacts of MJF with the former AEW World Champion making his shocking return right after.

MJF entered the ring, seemingly to reconcile with Cole, but instead delivered a low blow, flooring him for his attack at AEW Worlds Collide back in December 2023. As Cole was helped from the ring, MJF declared that Cole’s actions had awakened him and vowed to be the wolf of professional wrestling, and pledged his loyalty to AEW, vowing to reclaim the top spot.

However, it seems that fellow AEW star Wardlow did not take MJF’s declaration too kindly as he took to his X to fire shots at The Salt of the Earth’s desire to be the most dangerous competitor in AEW upon his return.

“He wants to be 6’3 270lbs so bad. And now calling himself the wolf 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 keep dreaming little buddy 🐺 #AEWDoN.”

With MJF back and already having an enemy possibly awakened by his statement, fans eagerly await his next move as he focuses on reclaiming his place at the top of AEW.
