Tony Khan has made it clear that re-signing Bryan Danielson is a top priority for the company as the wrestling star’s contract is set to expire this August.
In an interview with CBS Sports, Khan disclosed the timeframe of Danielson’s contract expiration, noting that it falls before All In at Wembley Stadium, and expressed optimism about retaining him.
“I would like Bryan to stay, in a perfect world, forever here in whatever capacity he’d stay with us in. I’d hope that Bryan would finish his wrestling career here. I would do anything to make that happen,” Khan stated.
While Danielson has previously mentioned that this year will be his final one as a full-time in-ring talent, Khan expressed his desire for Danielson to remain with AEW beyond that.
“I don’t know whether he’ll be wrestling full-time after that, but I really hope Bryan will stay with me here in the office forever. I talk to Bryan pretty much every day whenever I can, so I hope that will continue for the rest of our lives.”
Since debuting with AEW at September 2021’s All Out, the 43-year-old Danielson has been a significant addition to the roster. He is scheduled to team up with FTR and Darby Allin at Sunday’s Double or Nothing against The Elite in an Anarchy in the Arena match.
