Bryan Danielson is one of the top stars in all of AEW and he knows how serious neck injuries can be. That is exactly why he was concerned for Tony Khan when The Young Bucks hit him with a piledriver.

Last month, Tony Khan found himself in a precarious situation on AEW Dynamite following a shocking ambush by Jack Perry. The incident occurred during what seemed to be an attempt at reconciliation between Khan and Perry, but Perry suddenly turned violent, striking Khan in the gut.

This initial attack triggered a rapid escalation as The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada joined Perry, leading to brutal assault that left Khan incapacitated in the ring as The Young Bucks hit the Tony Khan Driver on the AEW President.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Bryan Danielson talked about The Young Bucks spiking Tony Khan on his head. The American Dragon admitted he was more worried about Khan’s well-being and if he would be able to safely take the move, instead of what the storyline implications would have been.

“When they got him up for the spike tombstone piledriver, I was just hoping Tony was OK, I was hoping he would protect his head.” “More and more people are using piledrivers, and there’s more and more head drops, so we train specifically in the BCC for how to escape those unscathed, Tony doesn’t have any of that training. He’s not a wrestler. My first concern was Tony’s health.”

Tony Khan wore a neck brace for a few weeks after that to sell the offense. Regardless, Brayn Danielson will be in for a fight as he and the rest of Team AEW take on The Elite in The Anarchy In The Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing on May 26th.
