WWE and AEW personnel and superstars are known to take verbal jabs at each other on multiple occasions. A highly publicized back and forth in recent memory was between WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque and AEW star Will Ospreay.

During WrestleMania week, Triple H made remarks on the Pat McAfee Show regarding wrestlers who are unwilling to endure the rigorous WWE schedule. These comments were interpreted as being directed at Will Ospreay, who chose to sign with AEW instead of WWE.

In response, Ospreay addressed the situation on the March 20th episode of AEW Dynamite, stating that Triple H achieved his power position by marrying the former WWE Chairman’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon.

In an interview with Adrian Hernandez, The Aerial Assasin was asked to elaborate on the back-and-forth between him and Triple H. Ospreay stated that the back-and-forth should have been one and done and not publicized the way it was. Moreover, he struggled with Triple H’s comments due to having immense respect for him but made it clear that he was not among those people who would take verbal shots and not retaliate.

“It is what it is. Everyone sent it to me. People within the company were saying, ‘That was a bag at you.’ I’m over it now. I said my bit. My thing was funny. Everyone took it way too personally. All these old fucks that are like, ‘I have a podcast’ and they think they know everything. I couldn’t give a fuck about these guys. As soon as it was said, I fired back and it should be done. At the end of it, no harm done. I fucking like Triple H. It was a little bit hard hearing that shit. I was nothing but respectful in all the talks. I have my own mission, my own adjectives, my own goals. Just because it doesn’t fit with your things, it doesn’t mean people should be firing shots my way. I come from a generation where if you fire one at me, I fire one back.”

Triple H is currently in Saudi Arabia for their PLE taking place tonight, WWE King and Queen of the Ring for which he also announced a major stipulation for the finals of the name-sake tournaments. On the other hand, Will Ospreay is gearing up to face Roderick Strong for the AEW International Championship at Double or Nothing tomorrow. While Ospreay and Triple H did not speak about the verbal exchange, we will have to wait and see if these two could form a working relationship in the future.
