Sami Zayn won the Intercontinental Championship by defeating GUNTHER at WrestleMania 40 and has since been a defending champion. That’s why it was no surprise he did the same at WWE King and Queen of The Ring.

The King and Queen of The Ring premium live event took place at the Jeddah Superdome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and it was truly a night of memorable moments and solid matches.

One of the key matches saw Sami Zayn defend his Intercontinental Championship against Chad Gable and Bronson Reed. All three competitors gave it their all to win the bout, especially Chad Gable as he even performed a double German suplex on Reed and Zayn. Zayn hit the Helluva kick on Bronson Reed to win the match after Gable was taken out accidentally by Otis.

When the dust settled, it was Sami Zayn who came out on top and retained the Intercontinental Championship. This was the expected outcome, so now it remains to be seen who Zayn will face off against next.
