Giulia had the wrestling world buzzing after her impactful debut at NXT Stand & Deliver last month, leaving fans eagerly anticipating her performances in WWE. Unfortunately, she sustained a fractured wrist injury shortly after. Despite this setback, it appears WWE has big plans for her introduction to NXT television.
In case you missed it, Giulia and Utami Hayashishita teamed up to face Sareee and Bozilla in a tag team match at Marigold’s inaugural show, “Marigold Fields Forever,” at Tokyo’s Korakuen Hall on May 20. Unfortunately, Giulia sustained a fractured wrist injury during the match. Due to this injury, she was subsequently pulled from the Hana Kimura Memorial Show on May 23.
Despite her injury, WWE is still targeting an NXT Women’s Title match between Giulia and Roxanne Perez at NXT Heatwave on July 7th but there’s no guarantee that will actually happen.
According to Fightful Select, it was reported that the match has not been officially confirmed or is close to being finalized. Nonetheless, NXT sources emphasized that officials are determined to set up an NXT Women’s Championship title clash between Giulia and Roxanne Perez upon Giulia’s debut in the company.
On top of that, it was noted that Perez’s ongoing storyline with NXT general manager Ava will significantly influence Giulia’s introduction to NXT television. Roxanne Perez has reportedly been adopting a more intense wrestling style at live events in preparation for this anticipated matchup.
Giulia’s in-ring return remains uncertain after her wrist injury, but it is evident WWE plans to book her as a star once she does return to NXT television, so we’ll have to see when that will be in the end.
