WWE has exciting plans in store for one of its most important Premium Live Events, SummerSlam, with a significant announcement made recently, possibly coming in response to the overwhelming fan reception for pre-sale tickets for the 2024 edition.

This year’s WWE SummerSlam is scheduled to take place at the iconic Cleveland Browns Stadium on Saturday, August 3rd. However, WWE recently announced that the first-ever two-night SummerSlam event will be held at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 1st and 2nd, 2026.

As reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, one reason behind WWE’s decision to turn SummerSlam into a two-night event starting in 2026 is to mirror the size and scale of their premier show, WrestleMania in North America, especially if WWE opts to host The Show of Shows in an international location like Saudi Arabia or London.

“One aspect of why WWE turned SummerSlam into a two-night event starting in 2026 is that if WWE decides to take WrestleMania international, either Saudi Arabia or London, it will give a similar size event to North America.”

Furthermore, WWE SummerSlam has a storied history of being hosted in iconic venues, adding to the spectacle of the event each year. This year, all eyes are on Cleveland, while in 2026, the WWE Universe and Minnesota native WWE stars like Tiffany Stratton can look forward to the unprecedented two-night SummerSlam experience, beginning the promotion’s road to build it as a bigger spectacle than WrestleMania in their primary market, the United States.
