Original Main Event Plans for WWE NXT Battleground 2024 PLE Revealed

While the WWE Universe eagerly anticipates the King & Queen of the Ring event, NXT Battleground is shaping up to be a must-watch with its stellar lineup. With just a few weeks until the show, recent updates have unveiled the original plans for its main event.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE initially intended to feature Trick Williams vs. Noam Dar for the NXT Championship. The first angle was even shot to set this up, but circumstances changed, leading to a shift in plans when Gallus attacked Williams.

“The original main event plan was Trick Williams vs. Noam Dar for the NXT title and they shot the first angle in that direction, but Dar has been off TV and Williams was just attacked on this past show by Gallus.”

Despite the likely change in the main event, WWE has ensured that NXT Battleground will still deliver an incredible show. So far, the company has confirmed four matches, with more announcements expected soon.

• Oba Femi vs Wes Lee vs Joe Coffey (NXT North American Championship match)
