The go-home edition of AEW Dynamite, leading up to the highly anticipated Double or Nothing event, ended on an electrifying and chaotic note. The main event for the May 22 episode of AEW Dynamite saw Bryan Danielson facing off against the towering Satnam Singh for the first time.
The power-packed ‘David vs Goliath’ match was abruptly halted when Sonjay Dutt and Jeff Jarrett interfered, attacking Danielson and causing a disqualification. As the assault continued, AEW EVPs, The Young Bucks made their way down the aisle, intending to hand over the money they had promised Dutt for taking out Danielson.
Just as they were about to get their hands on him, a car pulled up outside the arena, revealing a surprising turn of events. The vehicle was driven by the returning AEW President Tony Khan, who had brought Darby Allin to the arena after he was barred by The Bucks.
Allin made a stunning entrance armed with a flamethrower and made his way to the stage, frightening off his Double or Nothing opponents. Elsewhere, Tony Khan right away took to his X to announce the ban on Darby Allin was lifted, sending birthday wishes for Bryan Danielson and hyping the upcoming Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing this weekend.
“The ban has been lifted @DarbyAllin! #AEWDynamite Happy Birthday
@bryandanielson! Team AEW vs The Elite This Sunday at #AEWDoN.”
With Tony Khan making his return just days before Double or Nothing, we will have to wait and see if he will make his presence felt as AEW celebrates its 5th anniversary in Las Vegas.
