WWE initially teased a potential title vs. title match between Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul for the WWE King and Queen of the Ring event. However, the match was later confirmed to be solely for Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Despite speculation that both titles would be on the line, Logan Paul has now confirmed that WWE never intended for the match to include his title.
During the contract signing on SmackDown last week, Cody Rhodes met his new challenger for the Undisputed WWE Championship, Logan Paul. During the segment, Paul clarified that only the Undisputed WWE Championship would be on the line in Saudi Arabia, as he had never agreed to defend his title.
Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Logan Paul addressed the upcoming match, responding to Cathy Kelley’s observation that things had “shifted.”
“Things haven’t shifted. This was always for Cody’s title, not mine. I’m shocked that people are shocked about that.”
Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE never intended to make the Logan Paul and Cody Rhodes match for both titles, and Logan Paul simply confirmed this report. Regardless, the match is set to take place at the WWE King & Queen of The Ring Premium Live Event, and fans are eagerly anticipating the outcome.
