The tensions are building up between AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland and his upcoming challenger for AEW Double or Nothing, Christian Cage as things took an interesting turn on the go-home edition of Dynamite.

During the May 22 episode of AEW Dynamite, Strickland was slated to face one member of Cage’s Patriarchy faction, Nick Wayne. The action went back and forth, only for Swerve to reign supreme and pick up the win.

However, right after his victory, he was attacked by Killswitch and Christian Cage who came down ringside. However, the owner of Swerve’s house tackled both men and in a fit of rage chased down Cage to the parking lot.

In his attempt to outlast Strickland’s wrath, Christian Cage stole a car, but his plans were foiled after the escape route was blocked by another car with Swerve’s associate, the returning Prince Nana in the driving seat. The champion caught up with him and launched a heinous assault on Christian on top of the car.

Moreover, he was moments away from striking Christian Cage’s head with a chair, only for him to finally be able to escape at the last minute.
