This year’s Queen of the Ring tournament has captured the attention of fans, featuring some of the biggest names in the WWE women’s division, with one match from the last leg of the competition setting a shocking record.

The May 20 episode of Monday Night RAW showcased the semi-finals for the red brand. After thrilling matches throughout the tournament, the WWE Universe had high expectations for the semi-final bout as IYO Sky and Lyra Valkyria faced off in an intense bout.

In an action-packed match with high stakes involved, Lyra Valkyria emerged victorious over Iyo Sky. With this win, Valkyria secured her spot in the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament after undergoing a gruesome battle for close to 19 minutes.

Interestingly, the time length for this year’s Queen of the Ring semi-final match exceeded the combined time of all matches that took place in the 2021 edition of the tournament i.e. 18 minutes, setting an astonishing record.

As for Lyra Valkyria, she will now face the winner of the Nia Jax vs. Bianca Belair match at the King & Queen Of The Ring PLE on Saturday. As the former NXT Women’s Champion stands just one step away from becoming the Queen of the Ring, the anticipation is high after a shocking record set and finals looming in the shadows.
