WWE initially hinted at a possible title vs. title match between Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul for the WWE King and Queen of the Ring event. However, the match ultimately became a contest solely for Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Prior to the official announcement, a WWE source informed Ringside News that there were never any concrete plans for a title vs. title match. When online speculation peaked, a senior member of the creative team confirmed to Ringside News a week ahead of the announcement that, “The internet is wrong.”

This speculation was used as a storyline tactic to generate heat for Logan Paul, and it obviously worked. There were never any plans for the match to happen and there wasn’t any plans changed at the last minute.

The match will take place on Saturday’s show, airing live from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Peacock and WWE Network. Ringside News will provide live play-by-play coverage of the event. Stay tuned to Ringside News for the latest updates, rumors, and spoilers about the show.
