As AEW prepares for its highly hyped pay-per-view AEW Double or Nothing, excitement is reaching a fever pitch among wrestling fans already. This event, which has solidified AEW’s presence in the competitive wrestling arena, is slated to unfold at the iconic MGM Grand on May 26 in Las Vegas, Nevada. In fact, AEW President Tony Khan stated that he has lots of cool things planned for the show.
A huge match that was already confirmed for the Double or Nothing pay-per-view will see Mercedes Mone squaring off against Willow Nightingale for the TBS Championship, in what will be the CEO’s in-ring debut. Swerve Strickland will also defend his AEW World Championship against Christian Cage.
Apart from that, Adam Copeland will be defending his TNT Championship against Malakai Black. Will Ospreay will also challenge Roderick Strong for the AEW International Championship and of course, The Elite will take on Team AEW in the Anarchy In The Arena match.
During an interview with The Rocker Morning Show (WRKR 107.7), Tony Khan addressed the recent attack on him by The Elite and highlighted the positive developments in AEW.
Khan expressed excitement for AEW fans, emphasizing that it’s an excellent time to be part of the AEW community. He encouraged both new and returning viewers to tune in, noting the exciting developments unfolding for Double or Nothing.
“It’s a great time to be an AEW fan. It’s a great time to jump in. If you haven’t watched AEW and you haven’t watched in a while, there’s a lot of cool stuff happening right now.
Having every Wednesday night on TBS at 8 pm and having every Friday and Saturday on TNT, that’s pretty special. But this 5-year anniversary show is the biggest milestone we’ve ever hit and we’re gonna do it in a very special way. I’ve got a lot of really cool things planned and I promise it’s gonna be a classic show. You’re gonna love it this Sunday.”
We will have to wait and see what surprises Tony Khan has in store for the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view as there’s a considerable amount of hype for the show for very good reason.
