The world of professional wrestling is still somewhat a niche concept for the rest of the world even though it is still far bigger than it has ever been in ways. There are still many detractors for the business but someone like Alex Jones is the exact opposite as he stood up for pro wrestling recently.
Alex Jones, known for his controversial opinions and polarizing viewpoints, recently took to social media to defend professional wrestling against claims of being fake. The political commentator responded to a clip showcasing a headscissors takedown with the caption, “If wrestling isn’t fake, explain this.”
In his response, Jones emphasized that wrestling isn’t fake but rather a choreographed art form. He suggested that attempting to convince people otherwise indicates a lack of understanding of the nature of wrestling as entertainment.
”Wrestling isn’t fake. It’s a choreographed art form. Thinking you need to convince people that wrestling isn’t real means you’re not in on the joke.”
Jones, who has faced criticism and garnered both followers and detractors for his conspiracy theories and outspoken commentary, drew parallels between pro wrestling and his own on-air persona. Like former President Donald Trump, Jones has been likened to a wrestling character, with his bombastic style and ability to captivate audiences.
Despite its cultural significance and dedicated fan base, professional wrestling has faced criticism from outside the industry. However, Jones’ defense is definitely something that many people appreciate.
