Sonya Deville Returns on 5/20 WWE RAW

WWE had been preparing to welcome back one of its beloved stars who has been sidelined for an extended period and tonight’s edition of Monday Night RAW saw her make her first appearance in a long time.

The spotlight here is on Sonya Deville, who has been on the sidelines since August due to a torn ACL. Initially expected to be out for 9-12 months, Sonya’s recovery journey has included significant personal and legal milestones.

During her hiatus, Deville celebrated a major personal milestone by getting married in New Jersey this past February to her long-time girlfriend, Toni Cassano. The joyous occasion was attended by numerous current and former WWE stars, adding to the event’s splendor. Otherwise, she had been diligently preparing for her return to action following her knee surgery, signaling her eagerness to resume her WWE career.

During the May 20 episode of Monday Night RAW, as Zoey Stark and her partner Shayna Baszler were gearing up for their part in the show, Sonya Deville was spotted backstage with them. Deville proceeded to talk to them with a proposal, only for them to brush her off and leave the scene.

With Sonya Deville making her long-awaited appearance on WWE television programming, we will have to wait and see WWE’s plans for her at the onset of a brand new era that is upon us.
