Former World Heavyweight Champion and WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry’s contract with AEW is reportedly set to expire this month.
According to Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, Henry, who signed with AEW in 2021 and made his debut at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view on May 30, has served in multiple roles within the company. These roles include analyst, coach, scout, and mentor, with his most prominent on-screen role being as an interviewer and personality on AEW Rampage.
“Sean Rosss Sapp is told that Mark Henry’s AEW contract is expected to expire this month. “
Henry is also a regular on Busted Open Radio, where he shares his insights and expertise on the wrestling industry.
Although Henry has not wrestled since the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018 and hasn’t had a singles match since February 2017, he has teased the possibility of returning to the ring for one last match. However, he has expressed uncertainty about what it would take to make that happen.
As his contract with AEW nears its end, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Mark Henry and whether he will renew his contract, return to WWE, or explore other opportunities within the wrestling world.
