Over the past few years, there have been numerous wrestling stars addressing their relationships with other veterans and pioneers of the industry. While numerous real-life beefs have come to light, thanks to that, some have also revealed about the camaraderie that the wrestling world can create.
During an exclusive interview with Ringside News’ Steve Fall, former WCW star Glacier revealed his relationship with Hulk Hogan during his time in the company. With Hogan being one of the masterminds behind the company, alongside the likes of Eric Bischoff, Glacier addressed how the Immortal One addressed situations.
Revealing a lot about the environment backstage in the company, Glacier stated that he had a very professional relationship with Hogan back in his WCW days. However, he revealed that the direction he was working upon was different from what Hogan wanted with the company.
“I just kind of had a professional working relationship with Hogan; never really got to know him on a real personal level. But yeah, I mean, you know, the thing was, I go back to what Eric was saying during that time, which, and I agree with this, is you know, I think professional wrestling should be, you know, it’s always, I heard it said one time, it’s almost like ‘When The Circus Comes To Town’; there should be something for everybody, you know? And I know Eric looked at that as kind of like a buffet of talent, you know? And you think about it, we had during that era, and we really did. Granted, when this thing called the NWO happened, we all know that everything else kind of took a backseat to that because it was a phenomenon that no one could really predict would blow up the way it did.”
“I was aware of what was going on with WWF at the time, and we were going through that Attitude Era. I mean, man, it was the greatest period of wrestling ever. And that’s not just my opinion; that’s a lot of other people’s opinion, you know? So, I knew what our job was. I knew that when we went out there, our job was to do something a little bit different, give people a little bit of, like I said, something different on the buffet so to speak, and break up a little bit of that.”
While Hogan and Glacier had a very professional relationship at work, they clearly didn’t think alike. However, it is impressive to see both men didn’t let their thoughts collide. Ringside News will keep you updated with everything going on in the wrestling industry.
