Eddie Kingston is one of the most hard-hitting wrestlers in the scene today. However, his momentum was derailed when the former NJPW Strong Champion sustained a tibular fracture in his leg.

The devastating injury occurred during Eddie Kingston’s match against Gabe Kidd for NJPW when he took a suplex through a table positioned between the ring and a guard rail. As he crashed through the table, Kingston’s legs struck the rail. Despite the injury, he managed to finish the match and even participated in a planned post-match segment with The Elite.

Recent reports indicated the severity of the injury was confirmed after a series of X-rays in California. However, in a new update by PWInsider, Kingston was revealed to have suffered tears to his ACL and meniscus as well, meaning that he would be out of action for close to nine months, possibly missing his chance to wrestle at AEW All-In.

“Eddie Kingston confirmed that he suffered tears to his ACL and meniscus as well as the tibular fracture. They will require surgery. While Kingston had hoped to be back by AEW’s All In: London, his post-surgery recovery will likely mean he will be out closer to nine months.  Kingston commented, “This part of the game.  Injuries happen.  I will be back.”

Despite a major setback, Eddie Kingston remained positive, claiming that injuries were a part of the game, and vowed to be back inside the ring soon. Ringside News extends its wishes to Eddie Kingston as he begins the road to recovery.
