Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa Set Their Sights on WWE Tag Team Championship Gold

WWE SmackDown duo Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, known as #DIY, are determined to capture tag team championship gold this year.

On the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, #DIY defeated Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo of Legado Del Fantasma while Tag Team Champions A-Town Down Under watched from ringside.

Speaking on the SmackDown Lowdown, Tommaso Ciampa reflected on their victory and outlined #DIY’s ambitions since being drafted to SmackDown. He stated:

“I wouldn’t call it, ‘a roll,’ right? It’s been one match. The difference is on Monday Night Raw, our approach was to wait, play the long game. That’s not the approach here on SmackDown. We are here to take what we want and what we want, you saw it tonight. Grayson Waller, Austin Theory, those Tag Team Titles. That’s what we want.”

Johnny Gargano echoed Ciampa’s sentiments, emphasizing their goal to become tag team champions in 2024. He added:

“That’s the agenda, Cathy. The agenda is, ‘#DIY: Tag Team Gold 2024.’ No matter who steps in our way. Look, I have a long history with both Austin Theory and Grayson Waller, and that is the endgame. But, any other team on SmackDown that wants to step in #DIY’s way, we’re going to show them what we’re all about.”

#DIY are former WWE NXT Tag Team Champions, having held the titles for 70 days after defeating The Revival (now FTR) at NXT TakeOver: Toronto in 2016. Their chemistry and history as a team make them formidable contenders for the tag team titles on the main roster.
