Ivar had been solidifying his reputation as a singles competitor, proving himself a formidable force within WWE. However, his recent absence from television followed an attack by Gallus. Now, it seems Joe Coffey has sent a heartfelt message to him, stepping out of character in the process.
During this week’s episode of NXT, Wes Lee, Ivar, and Josh Briggs were set to compete in a triple threat match to determine the next challenger for the NXT North American Championship. However, they were found incapacitated on the floor backstage. The attackers were later revealed to be the returning members of the faction Gallus.
Ivar was then written off WWE television as the company announced he was injured but fans weren’t sure if it was legitimate. After some uncertainty surrounding Ivar’s hiatus, the Viking Raider confirmed that he’s out of action due to a legitimate injury, describing it as “very serious.”
Joe Coffey recently took to Twitter to give a shoutout to Ivar, describing him as an absolute workhorse. In a genuine message for the injured star, Coffey ended up breaking character.
”Shoutout @Ivar_WWE and absolute workhorse. No one likes to see injuries. Tough as nails.”
Ivar’s wrestling future is uncertain at the moment after his injury. Despite the injury setback, fans are hopeful for his speedy recovery and return to the ring as soon as possible.
