WWE RAW Champion Works Dark Match After 5/17 SmackDown

Damian Priest won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship by capitalizing on Drew McIntyre with a cash-in, and he has been booked strongly as the champion ever since. Following this week’s episode of SmackDown, Priest also competed in a match, further solidifying his dominant presence in the WWE.

Although primarily a mainstay of Monday Night RAW, it’s not uncommon for RAW Superstars to appear on SmackDown for post-show dark matches. These dark matches are usually designed to send the crowd home happy, often with babyfaces getting the last laugh.

In the first dark match of the night following this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Awesome Truth defeated The Judgment Day. The second dark match saw World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest successfully defend his title against the legendary Kofi Kingston. Priest didn’t really have any issue making short work of Kingston at all.

Damian Priest also signed new contract with WWE and has Hollywood aspirations as well. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
